Massage Today Article - "Stay in Touch With ..." Lypossage
|
|
Lypossage, a new massage technique from the US, is being touted as the natural
alternative to liposuction. Developed by massage therapist Charles Wiltsie, it
uses deep tissue massage followed by lymphatic drainage. "Studies done on the
technique show size loss, rather than weight loss, says Gina Broso, of Gina's
Human Tuning in Canberra, who is the first to bring lypossage to Australia.
"Because of more efficient lymphatic drainage, studies show that side effects
include better functioning of the digestive system, better muscle control and
posture." ~ Good Medicine, July 2000
|
Touted as the natural alternative to liposuction, Lypossage is a massage-based
deep-tissue body contouring treatment that reportedly helps clients lose inches,
and reduce cellulite and abdominal fat. Some of the technique's most dramatic
effects are said to be on areas prone to sagging, such as the lower face and neck,
as well as the glutes and upper thighs. The treatments last about 30 minutes and
are performed in a series of 18 over the course of 6 weeks. Lypossage practitioners
are specially trained. ~ Muscle & Fitness Hers, Dec/Jan 2002
